Dig It?

It did actually stop snowing late yesterday evening, which led me to resolve to dig my way from the front door to the gate today.

Only, when I got up about 10:00, it had started snowing again. Nonetheless, I knew that - if I was to have any chance at all of getting to work tomorrow (assuming that there was any transport, of course) - I would need to get the shovel out now.

So I set to it and - with the help of a kind neighbour with more muscle and a far bigger shovel (ta, Phil!) - managed to carve out a channel wide enough to walk through without having to put my DMs on.

I have to admit, however, that I was constantly looking over my shoulder at this:

The swirling winds and accompanying chill have created some weird snow sculptures on some of the roofs hereabouts. I only hope that - when the thaw finally comes (and it looks as if we'll have a White Easter because temperatures are not going to rise enough in the meantime to melt very much) - this doesn't take half the guttering with it. an arrow to click on to take you to a follow-up item
