Don't Tell

Or, Media Awareness For Dummies, Chapter 1.

Janet Rennie is a woman - one assumes - who lives in Edinburgh.

Last week, she was convicted of embezzling £4600 from the Edinburgh Eastern branch of the Labour Party's Scottish region. This is particularly embarrassing as it is the branch of the current holder of the poisoned chalice which is the 'leadership' of that region, Kezia Dugdale.

On leaving court after her conviction, Rennie said:

Newspaper quote: 'I know I pled guilty [...] I don't want my name in the paper'

Well, so what? Well, I haven't shown you the full paragraph (taken from the website of The Herald, one of the orifices which passes for corporate journalism up there):

Newspaper quote: 'Rennie told the Sunday Herald: I know I pled guilty [...] I don't want my name in the paper'
