The Metre Reader
On the death of Tony Harrison, I merely refer the reader to the sonnets I wrote on the occasion of the great man's eightieth birthday.
(Which I did not send to him, which is probably just as well as - when editing them some six years later for inclusion in Judgements Volume One - I discovered a terrible Crime Against Metre in one line of the second verse. This I corrected for the book, and have now also put right on the original page.)
