When Will The Rain Come?
After a period of weather which has seen us have no more than a five-minute shower of drizzle in over three weeks, leading to my lawns making a crunching sound when you walk on them, and where someone or something caused some seriously scorched gorse bushes up by Brymbo Pool and the Bottle Chimney last weekend, then this track from 1967 seems more than apposite.
Like their co-evals Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich, and the Walker Brothers, the Troggs' b-sides were always musically more interesting than the hits. This was written by the band's drummer, Ronnie Bond:
