The New St. George - "All The Tea In India" (1994)

In order to fill yet another echoing silence whilst I totally fail to write anything, here's another little beauty you probably have never heard.

It comes from a band called The New St. George, which was (may still be) an Anglo-American folk-rock band featuring the Washington D.C.-born composer and producer Jennifer Cutting.

They appear only to have waxed one platter, 1994's High Tea. At the time of its release, I remember listening to BBC Radio's Folk On Two when Jim Lloyd was interviewing Cutting. He played an excerpt of one of the tracks on the album, All The Tea In India. I was entranced by it but - as was always the case in those pre-online-buying days - had no way of tracking a copy down.

The memory came back to me half an hour or so ago, so I went hunting. And found it. And found it just as beguiling as I did twenty (ye gods!) years ago. Perhaps you might find it so today.

Update: Damn! It's been pulled.
